Another MOT pass and rustproof ideas
My car has flown through the MOT again, no advisories, but a suggestion that it would be worth getting it a rustproofing if I intend keeping it.
Mainly the rear suspension arms, but anyone know a reliable place near to me in Garforth please?

I need to get the undercarriage on mine done too. I spent a small fortune on repairing the sills in 2019 and intended doing the rust proofing this year but with Covid etc, I didn't get round to it.

My MOT guy did suggest a very local company, but it's not something they specialise in. I have found a company not to far away, which seems to be a bit more specialised and have sent them an enquiry 'JR Classics', 5 miles from M62 J34.

I have just had mine rustproofed by Chris of Marshalls Performance cars in Hilton, near Burton on Trent.
He did and excellent job of welding up all the holes that were underneath and then rustproofed the complete underside. He is a member of this club and has recently offered his services.

I think I inquired with JR Classics before and found them a bit too expensive, but keep me posted on their quote. Very few (if any) specialists in West Yorkshire that I know of. Tx

I found a none specialist local company, but they expect it all cleaned down before they will tackle it - they suggest around £60.
I have enquired with lots of companies, even trying splitting the work up into steam cleaning then somewhere else for the treatment. JR Classics is very expensive, at possibly £7-800, but I have found an enthusiastic local company. He says he has been doing it for many years and has developed his own lances to do the job, steam cleans them one day, lets them dry, then Wasoyles the next day once it has dried and suggests not having it done at this time of year at all - wait until the warm weather of summer. https://andyturnermotorengineering.co.uk/ Andy Turner 0113 2784003 He suggests he can do the whole underside for £140 to £160, including all cavities. They are in Kirkstall, Leeds - not far from Broad Lane/ Bridge Road/ Leeds and Bradford Road.
