Fitted a whaler in line stat to FIL’s tourer. To say he was pleased was an understatement.😄
Checked the plenum on the tourer, all good. Hoovered the inside of two saloons and 1 tourer. Not before time🙄🙄 Gave the window rubbers on no. 1 saloon a wipe over with autoglym vinyl & rubber care, as that’s where condensation seems to start to form on cold evenings. Not sure if it’ll make a difference 🤔 but worth a try I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok so it was last week but I opened the bonnet of my 75 and felt something was loose, so I said to myself must check the bonnet release cable.... checked the engine closed the bonnet and forgot to check the cable. Bonnet was now closed and would not open....so last Sunday, I spent the afternoon trying to open the bonnet.
Finally I got the bonnet open and modded the cable release box.....I also greased the connections and the springs.... It is now working lovely.....

Washed both cars. And had a wee drive out to Polperro with the Bear.

ZT time.
I put the carpet in the ZT and started to put the dashboard back together, the newly sorted heater control looks spot on but I made a basic error, I didn't put in a bulb to light the display and that's a job for morning. Too eager to get it in and play with it!

What I did with my Rover 75/MG ZT today?
Fitted my DMGRS three piece engine mount set. Pleasantly straightforward other than the block in the top mount!
Method: Jack on front X-member, axle stands on jacking points, handbrake, remove belly pan. Release lower mount, jack to sump, take off top engine cover (diesel). Release bolts as discussed on here, then faff around trying to undo hydra mount nut. Deep 19mm impact socket did the trick. Copious WD40 around hydra mount block then drift and spin off. WD40 to inside of front strut tower to release front bolt on wing mount. 15mm ratchet spanner a godsend on other three bolts. Release as many AC pipe mounts as you can! Refit top mount BEFORE Hydra mount it’s a lot easier. Refit, Loctite and torque up, run engine, replace all bits and road test. 80 mile round trip to collect refurbished alloys and noteable improvement, but still some vibes, traced to rear heat shield but also probably crank pulley. Investigate Freelander pulley as a lot cheaper! Horns and H7 HID kit to fit tomorrow, then posh wash, compound and finish, then fit refurbed 11-spokes in BMW metallic grey powder coat...
