Just seen an outstanding interview on BBC with Professor John Van-Tam, outstanding due to the lack of interruptions from the interviewers. I really think that the Professor would make a very interesting subject for a documentary: straightforward and no elaborations.

( nice reference to "Mrs. V-T")

I am confident in the vaccine

They are giving it to Old Peoples Home residents and staff along with NHS staff in the first wave.

So if it did not work or was harmful there would not be any medical or care staff to look after whats left anyway.

Bring it on,lets get this done and make us all safe,(I sound like Boris now)

Getting near time for a Scotch Egg and a few pints

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

More importantly for me, I've got an appointment at the barbers in a couple of weeks time

I'm with you. Got an appointment 2/30 this afternoon for the trim. Good news.

Also as I'm over 80 ( 83. ) I might be near the head of the queue for the vaccine. ( But do I want that ?? )

The timing suggests a dental appointment to me, it's what I always try to use for dental appointments to help with my memory of them.

Might be worth checking just in case.

Well, so long as the money has been paid in advance, and bland assurances given, I'd like to see them by the way, and accepted by people I don't believe or respect for one minute, and post-injection liability lasting for the remaining lifespan of the first most vulnerable group has been resolved, and other more strenuously tested alternatives are on the as yet un- determined way, then what's to worry about?

They are not rolling out the vaccine yet over here so I can't get mixed up with the dates.

I see you like puns willy. I love to use them when I can. I wonder if anybody spotted yours.--

Thanks Ron. Hate to say it, well I don't really, but all that goes to confirm my instincts rather than any, read none, medical experience I might have had.

I read all of that and found myself continually nodding in agreement on the basis of a lifetime of 'follow the money' and then 'especially if it has an American source'. There is always, absolutely always, a deeper dimension to everything we are being told.
If I can quote a better informed writer than me:

"And incidentally, do lockdowns work? Published in Frontiers in Public health last week, yet another thorough international study found no statistical correlation between Corvid mortality and suppressive policies: 'Stringency of the measures settled to fight pandemia, including lockdown, did not appear to be linked with the death rate'. .. Boris Johnson's government mustn't condition lifting the pillow now pressed over Britain on the completion of countrywide vaccination - or we could be gasping under goose feathers for quite some time".
Lionel Shriver.

Anyway back to the question of vaccination, I wonder if this is going to be necessary for those of us who have already had covid?

I'm currently participating in a study into recovered covid patients, and being tested fortnightly swab and bloods, and eight months after being infected my antibody count is still very active.

Just a thought, I may well ask the question when I next attend.

Brian
It's re-assuring and good to hear Brian that you've recovered from your encounter with the dreaded Wu flu (recovered well hopefully with no long Covid?), and still have a strong antibody count after eight months. I can't think of any reason for you to need a vaccination this time around, unless your GP comes up with a logical and credible rationale. If they do, I'd personally be very interested to hear what he/she said.
