The last thre or four posts have been about head gaskets. You really don't have enough evidence that there's a head gasket issue thus far. The lumpy starting you raised in your other thread suggests the inlet manifold gasket (IMG) might be leaking. I'd suggest doing some IMG checks - like the spark plug examination, before spending money on anything.

Thanks. I need to get some extensions to look at the spark plugs so will try that.
