Default New Lotus Evija

Lotus have just announced their new Evija (pronounced Eh-ve-ya - apparently!)

A brand new 2,000 horse-power, all electric hypercar, costing £1.7m.

Even if l had the money, it's just not the kind of car l would feel comfortable being seen in.

It helps that l don't find it at all attractive though l don't mind watching the occasional Transformers film.

Is that 2,000 Horse Power when the Batteries are fully charged? So when it is being used it is losing power all the time ??

As far as I am aware with electric vehicles, you can have that power all the time, until the battery is depleted, at which point it wouldn't be able to supply the current, although the car will detect it's batteries are close to flat and would prevent the vehicle from being driven to prevent damage to them.

So you have 2,000 BHP available all the time, until the battery is flat. Obviously if you were demanding lots of energy from the battery constantly, like flooring it doing top speed up a very long steep hill, they would deplete quite quickly.

When you consider this thing has slightly more power than a Rimac C Two, but weighs 400kg less, it is going to be one hell of a machine.

I'd need the services of a chiropractor to get in and out of it.

I can't see how you can fit the garden waste in it, when you want to take it up the tip.
