Front or rear suspension Robert?

For a bolt it's a die you'll need.

Probably easier to find a new bolt rather than try and repair a damaged one.---A bolt would be cheaper than a die and holder.---

Another idea if you are desperate.----Find a nut to fit a good bolt.---Carefully cut it in half across the hole.--Clamp it on the bolt to be re-furbished above the damaged thread. ( In a vice. )-- Then carefully unscrew the bolt re-forming the damaged thread as you do.--The cut nut effectively giving you 4 cutting edges to clean the bolt thread with.

Is it the 2 ( each side ) rear trailing arm bush mount bolts ( 18mm head ) that screw into the subframe from above ?

If so, have you dropped the subframe to enable access to be able to run a tap through the threads ?

If you can confirm that it is these bolts, I'll have a couple knocking about somewhere and will measure the bolt dia. and thread pitch for you.

But seeing as you have the correct bolts, the quickest way would be to visit a local nut and bolt / engineers suppliers with the sample bolt, describe the problem, ask their advice, then they will be able to supply you with the correct 1st, 2nd and 3rd tap ( or taper, plug, bottoming ) to solve the problem

I believe that you're talking about FT 114407 then Robert and Rimmer's listing gives those as M14 x 40.

By the way, I've just done this job. To eliminate the risk of cross-threading, remove the anti-roll bar saddle clamp screws (poor access and zero visibility, 10mm 3/8 in. drive socket needed plus universal joint) and this will enable you to move the anti-roll bar aside and place a socket on your M14 bolts (with lightly greased threads).

Be very careful on its location as you start to use it.---It is very easy to start a new thread at, maybe, half the pitch of the old one.---

PS.--- A taper tap will not be needed.

The correct size tap is M14x2 be very careful when starting it off, if you cut the thread incorrectly it will be a new subframe!
