Default Digital spirit levels

Any have and use a digital spirit level?
I am tempted to get one but reviews vary from web site to web site or the some model.
Any recommendations for which one to get. Perhaps 2ft in length.

I may want to build a frame on a floor to fill with concrete but need to get it level as the items to stand on it do not have any adjustment for uneven floors.

I've had this Bosch one for years:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OodNQHJlTDg

I've found it to be excellent. Particularly the "beep" function when you can't really see the bubble/read-out because your head is under a shelf etc.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, looking around the internet I am tempted by a Bosch GIM 60L. Amazon have a "deal" on it at £140.99 and I cant find it cheaper. I would like to get my hands on one to feel it, play with it and try it before buying.

I am sure I will use it more then just this one job. May be I should double check the floor before buying

I have one of these;
https://www.laserlevelshop.co.uk/showdetails.asp?id=913
Use it alot at work and find it is very accurate, also a handy size for confined areas and easy to use.
Hope that helps, Paul.

I am concerned that a short spirit level will be less accurate then a long one but I am having second thoughts about the Bosch GIM 60 L.
Read something that as the laser dot gets further away I think the size increases. Where would you then measure from? Ringing Bosch now to ask.
May be just the GIM 60 is the one to go for

Oops....

Sorry Ian, mine's a GIM 60, not a 60 L. That'll teach me to double check .

I have a DeWalt DW088 cross line laser for longer distances etc.

I'd certainly have another if/when it fails.

For what you want a Laser level would be perfect and very much cheaper than the item you mention.

Measure from the center of the dot.

In my building days I've been responsible for the installation of more than 4,000 cubic metres of concrete. All done with a Laser level.

That's well over 8,000 tons of concrete.-( )

Cant you build the frame and then use a "Self levelling" concrete mix??

It's possible but will cost more and will still need a bit of fiddling about with. __Also you have to make your shuttering water tight which is not necessary with a normal mix.----
