V6 big end bearing clearance
Done a little digging but would like this clarifying. According to a website (freelander specific but of course the engine specification is identical) it states the clearance an the big end bearing should be between 0.022 - 0.040 mm (0.0008 - 0.0016 in). Does this sound about right?
Thanks

Thanks for that. These engines and rovers high level of manufacturing ability still amaze me. My engine (with a 130000 miles) has got big end clearances of 0.0018 - 0.0019 in and are in great condition. No pitting or scoring of any kind, no discolouration.
Hopefully the mains and the end float will be in spec...
