R75 diesel manual saloon wanted
Hi,
My uncle who is based in Reading is without a car at minute and would like to find a R75 in good condition. Ideally he'd like a top spec one with low miles and maybe something that will last a few years. Must be a diesel manual saloon car. He's looking to spend £1k but might go higher for something in really good condition, maybe nearer 2k. We are in Reading. Any help of suggestions appreciated. Jim |

Hi Jim, if your uncle's looking for a diesel manual 4dr with low mileage, then £1000 is more likely to get him a car needing some work - most people are starting to realise the diesel engine will do huge mileages if looked after and hence cost a premium over their 4 cylinder petrol equivalent.
If he's not keen on doing too many repairs, then go for the higher budget and buy the best one you can find, remembering there'll always be jobs to do now the cars are getting older. Good luck with your search

Tell him he’d be better off with an auto, I know where there’s a nice one for sale!

Mine is for sale at the moment, fully sorted reduced to £1600. Might be worth a look ! Look on members cars for sale and the dreaded evil bay.
As mentioned on the post above, unless you are really lucky. up to a grand will only buy you a car needing time and money spending on it. Better buying a fully sorted one for slightly more money in the first place. I needed an estate, bought one for £1250, already spent over a grand on getting it sorted and it still needs more work doing to get it right. So the moral is buy a good one to start with, it's cheaper in the long run by far ! Phil |

It’s well worth travelling for a good one, furthest I’ve ever been is Scotland for a BMW motor bike and brought it back on a trailer.
