Default Loan of Diesel clutch change tools

Does any kind member of the club have a set of clutch changing special tools that I could borrow for a weekend so i could replace my clutch?

I would need a hydraulic joint coupler splitting tool, the clutch centring tool and a threaded stud that could be used to support the gearbox when refitting..

Deposit and full postage offered.

Please DM me if you could help...

B&Q may well do the stud/rod. My coupler spliter is home made and i cant recall how good it is but if you want to borrow it you are welcome.

You don't need a joint splitting tool or clutch centring tool - a pair of thin long nose pliers will split the hydraulic connection and you can centre the clutch plate to the pressure plate on the bench and three drops of superglue will hold it in position whilst you bolt it up.

I have literally just done this job and you don’t need any of those tools you desire
I centred the clutch plate by eye like I’ve done every other clutch I’ve changed. But there’s a good suggestion above to use glue.

Also, you can buy stud bar very cheaply but a small ratchet strap and a lump of wood over the engine bay works just as well.

When I were a young lad many decades ago, a lump of your mums brush stale and a quick whittle with your sheath knife, which everyone had, always worked,( always remember to round and smooth off the cut end and rub in a bit of dirt, hoping she won't notice it's six inches shorter ) or a root around for a piece of rod to fit the spigot bearing and umpteen turns of insulation tape was second best



I don't know, you young uns have it easy. ����


P.s.a well whittled brush stale, a dollop of heavy grease and a good belt with a decent lump hammer has shifted many a spigot bearing.

Thanks for the super glue hint. Will try that.

I did a bit of google based research and found one sad tale of someone using too much glue so the clutch would never disengage
