Emile,
I have 225 50 17 tyres on my Meteors, you drove it in 2019 in Holland if you recall.

Hi and thank you all for your feedback. This is helpful information, thanks. I have also discovered something else, namely a tyre calculator. Here you can see the differences in speeds and deviations in percentage from the original specification from the factory. A certain degree of deviation is acceptable. I read that a deviation of up to 2% is considered acceptable.

https://www.banden.nl/band-rekenmachine in Dutch, but very usefull.

https://tiresize.com/calculator/ in English

or more easy to use:

https://tire-calc.com/

So it seems to me that it is a matter of finding out what the manufacturer's original specifications are for the recommended tyre size for the rim in question, and then using the calculators to calculate whether the new desired size is within the acceptable limits.

I'll get on with it, thanks!

Greetings from Holland.

Emiel

I drive my Rover 75 on serpents... the handling is superb and the best thing i did was getting those alloy wheels the comfort is not affected , the handling is sublime.....on the tourer in which i think they handle far better than the saloons.

Only just seen this post.
I wasn't suggesting any car had different tyre sizes on each axle from factory or that it should be done, simply that it is legal to do so. My main point being, any wheel or tyre size fitted as standard at any point during production can be fitted to any 75/ZT without informing your insurance company.
