Luckily it didn't but I would always get spares from DMGRS in preference to ECP where practicable. And the sweeties are always a nice touch. |

10 minutes MOT pass for the Moonstone today, what a great car to drive, own and admire.

found the bonnet release pull isn't working so sent a pm to reebs hoping to get instructions on how to open the bonnet....
funnily enough, checking the splitter box was one of the jobs I was hoping to do today once the bonnet was open |

Heard a terrible grinding noise from the rear offside of Farage but luckily was just down the road from my Dad's - inspected the rear wheel on arrival and the pad has worn down to the backplate. Plenty left on the other side? Ordered new discs and pads from EuroCarParts with 45% off so cost £56 pickup Monday will have to use the wife's car to bring my tools down and change them. Couldn't get the hand brake shoes which is a shame. Might find the pins have seized so will clean and lube those up whilst I'm at it.

Today I sold my Star Spoke alloys to a forum member and tomorrow I'm off to buy one, maybe two, Union Alloys from another forum member.
One wheel will replace the space saver spare wheel, two will be a bonus as it will give me some flexibility in replacing tyres in the future. |

Sprayed some contact cleaner onto most of the electrical plugs in the engine bay on my missus derv, fitted a wheel arch light access cover, greased the bonnet pull box.
Then I pulled the bm unit from the boot to see why the radio wasn't working, I took the cover off only to find it extremely clean and dry, it turns out one or two of the wires in the connector are damaged, a quick fiddle with them had the radio come on, so the next job will be to either splice in another connector block or replace the entire loom with another good one. After that I put the new battery on the V8 and fired her up, I was surprised at just how little the engine turned over before it burst into life. |
