Default So this is what I had to deal with in a relationship that finished last year.

I feel that more people should be aware of this condition and it's tell tale signs.

I'm glad I was dumped!

Yep! - my first wife was certainly one. When she was caught out doing outrageous things (by normal standards) and asked to explain why - her response was genuine bewilderment that anyone could possibly ask that because her reason was that she wanted to, so how could it be "wrong".

The only way to deal with these people is to move on and have a happy life.

It will happen Stu ! - you just have to put yourself out there and make sure any glasses you wear are NOT rose-tinted ones .....

I came across a photo of your ex Stu on the laptop, I guess I should send the photo into the trash bin argh! I have to say, she was a cracker! .....such is life

Back in Kenya, we have a floor to ceiling wall to wall mirror to make the lounge look bigger. It's very telling for the folks who just can't take their eyes off themselves haha! A reason we turned the chairs around.

Your better off with Alison, she is a built for comfort, a perfect ride and rarely complains

I did manage to sort the financial mess out with thanks to a truly excellent solicitor who stopped me getting ripped off.

He knew what was likely to happen when he saw who was representing my ex and advised me accordingly. In the last month or so she put £'000's on our joint credit card and hid the statements when they arrived

She then requested we sit down and value all the assets so they could be split fairly. But we knew she had loaded the credit cards. I was told not to stop them as this could be seen to be "unreasonable" behaviour on my part !!!

Sure enough - just as predicted she insisted we agreed on ridiculously low values of our assets. We both signed tthe document to agree these valuations and she then proceeded to say that she would buy nearly all of these assets back using the equity share of our home that she legally owned.

I then I presented the credit card bills that she thought I didn't know about and showed her the separation agreement that stated all assets and liabilities were to be shared.

I then bought back all the items I wanted at our agreed ridiculously cheap prices and she still owed me money and as part of the divorce settlement she had to give me a cheque for.

It was a bitter sweet "victory" because she simply could not understand why she was not being allowed to do what she wanted.

I am forever grateful that we never had children because they would have been nothing more than bargaining chips for her.

What a contrast to my now lovely wife - married for 36 years now - two great sons - both with truly fantastic partners.

Life is what you make it - don't be a victim.

Juliette proved that looks and appearance can be deceptive! There is a new development, I just wanted to create a place where people can talk about these toxic individuals really.
