Strewth what a mess Jim.
Surely the Polo was a lot worse?? You must take it easy for a few days and not get stressed. Take care.

Hi Jim. Just read about your accident. What a mess. You have not had any luck atall with it. A jinx car if you ask me. But, the fact is that you and your good lady escaped without to much trouble. As said before, keep a look out on that headache. You will probably develope a few more aches and pains over the next few days. Shame about the car, but there is always another car elswhere.

I was really surprised to see the Polo, it has severe offside front wing damage right into the suspension but only minimal damage to drivers door. It pulled up approx 50 yds behind me in a straight line but on the opposite side of the road whereas my car was flipped through 90 degrees.
Dash cam footage which I don’t want to show at present was excellent. My son picked up the broken mirror glass from the verge and handed it to me as a souvenir, ( broken mirror bad luck ) When I later vowed the footage I froze it imediately after impact and what was flying through the air, yes the mirror glass. I’ve also got the plastic mirror shield in perfect condition and the vent with Jaguar logo from the front wing which was the initial point of impact. |

Really sorry to hear about this, Jim. I know from recent experience how devastating such accidents can be - I had the misfortune to be hit by a lorry on my way home from Roverfest (as readers of my post Tragic End to a Lovely Day will know) - but the damage in my case was much less than yours. I am just glad that neither of you was seriously injured. Much as we love our cars, they can be replaced - people can't.
You seem to have had one problem after another with the Jaguar and I hope you are more fortunate with your next one. |

That’s a shame you’ve lost the car Jim, but at least you and your wife are ok.
In a way ,maybe it’s a cloud with a silver lining, considering the problems you have had with that car since purchase . Not that you would want it to end this way of course.

Over in Spain at the moment Jim and just read this. Good news is you are both ok it could have been a lot worse and as others have said the Jag took the brunt and it may have been different in another car.
So I assume the search is on for another 75 or maybe a nice P5 or P6 to go with the Vitesse, or maybe just drag the Vitesse out of retirement and go on a nice cruise with the money you save. Stay safe Blackrose |

I reckon Jim, with your ability, you could buff that out in a day or two, but after seeing your suspension work, you would probably want to allow 5 or 6 days, you know ................... to do it right

Thanks again guys for words of encouragement, to get away from it all we went out for a nice meal tonight with a “girl (and her husband) “ who my missus went to school with more than 50 years ago.
The two haven’t met since they left school and met up through Facebook culminating in tonight’s meal. I’ve got into a row for talking too much, well maybe it was that lovely bottle of red wine. Hope I get a decent sleep tonight though as I’m whacked. BTW Wullie, yes I managed most of the bits but had to give up on the towbar, it was just too much. Good night guys. |

Sorry to see your car like that, Jim! However, glad that you were both okay after the accident.
