Default Radio amplifier / Satnav Highline

Ok.... when the rear demister is on..... the radio is rubbish.....turned off.....radio is great............so I'm thinking the amplifier box behind the C trim needs replacing......

Also........ would that affect the accuracy of the highline satnav ???

Mine seems to be ok..... but sometimes it dives off left or right and then returns to the proper position.

Is there a better aerial that I could fit ? Maybe a shark fin to my Zt ??

Or is the satnav receiver somewhere else ?

remove headrests and clean the inside of the glass then try again

It's actually called the 'D' trim (odd I know) Paul and if you remove this on the offside you should find a little box called the 'Filter, screen aerial' (which on my car is XUE 100 001). Check that the connections to that are clean.
On the nearside, the two HRW elements, which double as the radio aerial, are each earthed via a choke (a small tubular electronic component). These are very unlikely to be faulty but their connections could be checked.

I doubt it Paul.

The navigation aerial which you have is perfectly satisfactory. The IT industry admitted some years ago that shark's fins (as well as telescopic aerials on early mobile phones) were provided because it thought that the public would not believe that the equipment would work properly with an invisible aerial. The shark's fin was also viewed by some as a status symbol.

It's in the box containing the navigation disc drive Paul, usually in the boot.

No, it's nothing to do with the tourer. It's a bit odd but the pillar separating the front and rear doors is split into two 'posts': B and C. You might therefore describe your front door latch striker plate as being on the 'B' post and your rear door hinges on the 'C' post.

I agree that trying the cleaning is the first choice.

Well well well................ cleaned the rear window and.............................

all sorted LMAO...... who knew that would work..... not me.

No more interference when the demister is on and no more dodgy satnav tracking !!

The window didn't even look dirty LOL
