Is there a How to on changing window regulator?
Rear window on my V6 dropped, got door card off to find cable ends, with nipples on, flapping around so cable not snapped but cannot find anything here that will help. At least the only posting I can find has Photobucket pics that have disappeared to the Rover graveyard in the sky. Window wedged shut with 20 inch of solid timber.
Any help gratefully received.

On two of mine the nipples were fine too, it was the plastic guides that cracked.
So go to your local VW dealer tell them you've got a Skoda Octavia (or any VW) if they ask for a number then 1UO-837-583 might help. Costs less than £2 here in Sweden. Just used a decent ebay picture of the mechanism to put it back together, was fiddly though. Regards |

Tak. Does it come with free meatballs? Can you remember if you left the glass wedged up or down? Pics would certainly help: I'll explore. PS Just found this on YouTube, but my Czech (?) is a bit rusty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_AQyNKifwQ

Meatballs VW? - that's a different outlet.
Just used a length of duct tape on the glass up over the door top to secure it while I remove the mechanism. Easy removal / fitting, but what is fiddly is getting the tension right but if you've got a good picture like this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-...EAAMXQJRhRbNsC you should be able to figure it out. Of course s/h is also an option but that plastic guide is going to be 20 odd years old, and with a new one at less than £2, s/h is not worth even considering. The same thing happened to me Dave a year ago, NSR.
If you would like to send me an e-mail address by PM I can send you the page from RAVE (Regulator - rear door - electric, remove, refit) It includes two pictures. Simon
