Hi Paul,

I guess from the lack of replies that there aren't too many brand new engines still out there now

Have you checked Rimmers ? You could also save a search on ebay, Gumtree, etc. - you never know what might appear at some point.

Worth remembering that the automatic (CVT) models of Rover 25 & 45, along with the MGF 1.8 and MG TF 135, all used the 1.8 engine, so you might just be lucky and find someone breaking a low mileage one of these, as a good alternative if you don't find anything brand new.

Good luck

Don't think Rimmer's have any more complete new engines, but companies like this exist https://www.freelanderspecialist.com...itioned-engine and ship worldwide.

Just for fun I tried their (Microsoft's) Swedish translation service - waste of time but to get back to English I had to clip the USA flag icon! Thankfully the language used on the site is proper English.

Regards

You can still get a remanufacured one from Ivor Searle:

https://www.ivorsearle.co.uk/Products-Services/Engines

I have bought engines and cylinderheads from them in the past and although they're not the cheapest, you will end up with a top quality product.
