what is the weight of the front end
if I have the rear wheels on the ground and were to put scales under the front wheels, what would the weight be of a saloon or tourer?
my metal car ramps are too steep for Rover 75's and so am thinking of getting extensions as they are cheaper then new ramps but need to know what weight the car is. thank you macafee2 |

Just a guess but I would say 2/3 of the total car weight

Does the VIN plate give the max axle loadings , if so you could use that figure as a max.

I had an old set of ramps that were too steep, all I did was make "steps" using MDF that lift the front of the car enough to clear the lip of the ramp.

Not exactly what you asked but manual says:
Max. front axle load: - 1.8 petrol models 1010 kg (2227 lb) - 2.0 & 2.5 petrol models 1070 kg (2359 lb) - 2.0 diesel models 1100 kg (2426 lb) so at least you have a max to work with. |
