If the nut can be removed, and the bolt is seized in the hole, then run the nut off toward the end of the thread, then a good clout with a mash hammer should shift the bolt.

In the main, these bolts tend to shear off, and require drifting out, and if you've been attempting to undo the bolt end rather than the nut with it seized in place, then the result is........well I think you know what the result is

Best of luck

So I’ve been able to get the nuts off but the bolt will not move or rotate!
I’m not able to get the nut back on the n/s due to hammering it! However I will try that on the o/s!
No signs of it rounding off yet.

Fingers crossed that a good soak in penetrating fluid and the extractor set should get it moving enough to hammer it out..

Cut off the bolt flush with the hub and use a parallel punch and a decent size hammer to drift out the remnants, you can help this along by shocking the bolt substantially by liberal hammer action on the rounded bolt head before attempting to knock it out.

Always if attempting to drift a bolt out, leave the nut in place at the top of the threads to prevent the peening of the end of the bolt you have experienced.

When you come to refit the bolts, it should be noted the nuts should be fitted on the trailing edge of the bolt, and plenty of coppaslip

These are M10 flange bolts, 12.9 with stiffnuts, do not replace them with M10 machine screws and nyloc nuts.

Best of luck

Brian

You need a bigger hammer and a more energetic swing on it.

When trying to drive the bolt out, support the arm with something really heavy behind it , so the force is not dissipated by flexing it on its bushes etc . I often use a sledge hammer as a support.

One word - heat (but protect the gaiter on the driveshaft - 7 words!)
