I've ordered Borg & Beck ones this time, hopefully they'll last, oh, and I'll be fitting them myself this time!
I'm convinced garages fitting them with a windy-gun ruins them
Unless the garages are stripping the coil springs out first there's no way you can get a windy-gun on the end that causes a problem.

Well my absolute bargain basement drop links have covered over 100,000 miles now, and are not displaying any wear characteristics

I've looked at the OP's video, and apart from it not being tightened to the strut, the boot has been displaced from the top of the shank of the joint.

I don't know how many times I've seen this done by people using a spanner with jaws too wide, but it's lots and lots, and normally what causes premature failure.

The ones I fitted were boxed as "D2P" and were about £13.50 for a pair IIRC.

What I did do prior to fitting them to the car, was inject 10cc of molybdenum CV grease into each ball joint and articulate it until it was worked well into the joint.

The rubber boots are in good order, and they don't knock.........what does that tell you......and they are not OEM-Q five year no quibble guarantee, nor £200 a side

Brian

It's all about the 6 P's
Planning & Preparation Prevents P%#@ Poor Performance......

I injected mine with 'HD Transportation Grease', and were only £20 for 2.
Sadly I didn't didn't do the springs myself, problems resulting in having to be fitted with a different Hub assembly prevented it, I suspect they become sprained between 1 side being completed and the hub arriving to finish the other.
Never mind
