Battery disconection
would i cause any malfunctions to any parts of my car if i disconnect my battery each time my car is going to be stood idle for 4/5 days, grateful for any answers, can not find what is discharging battery and fed up with changing it every 4/5 days so thought it might be easier to disconnect it till i can afford to have it looked at.

Would imagine the o Ly thing it will affect is your radio settings, if you have an oem radio you can de activate the code request,if you look in the I c e forum ,Im sure there is a thread on what to do, I did it on mine.

I don't know the answer but in the interim what about using a Ctek style trickle charger that you can safely use whilst the battery is still connected. They come with both a hard wire kit and crocodile clips. I use two on my MGF and 260 and connect and disconnect is a matter of seconds.
Good luck with finding the source of the drain. |

Don't forget that the alarm will not work when the battery is disconnected. How important that is depends on where you are parking. I don't know whether it would affect your insurance in the event of a claim.

Red light???? I've have had unexplained battery discharge where I could leave the car for a few weeks and it's fine and then it will discharge completely over night. it's happened twice over the last year. I actually thought it was Sat-Nav related but red light??
