Radio fault

Hello,
I have a non original radio in my 2003 tourer which i bought last August, the car that is, recently the radio stopped working and i wondered if anyone could tell me what may be wrong? It's a Blaupunkt RDS DMS and when i switch it on the display reads WAIT 1 H, Which i assume means Wait one hour, having waited the best part of three weeks it still refuses to function. can anyone help?

Hi Alan,

That error message usually appears on radios that are protected with a security code - when the wrong code is entered, you have to wait an hour before trying again.

Does your unit have that feature?

It will be asking for the security code.

If you get it wrong more than a pre-set number of times, then the radio unit will lock up.

The wait 1H message means continuously powered for an hour before re-trying code entry. It does not mean switch off and come back in an hour. After 1 hour it should switch to CODE
