Update to my Update.
Well I have now done over 250 miles since I replaced the seals on the oil filter and oil cooler. This was a last resort in trying to solve the water loss which was ending up in the sump.
I have to report that as yet The water level has remained spot on. One thing I forgot to mention was that when I came to remove the filter body the three bolts that hold it onto the block were not tight. They came undone without any effort, although there was no external oil leak.It could well have been part of the problem Anyway, all is looking good at the moment..
