Diesel Engine disassembly precautions
My donor car will be going to the scrappy in the autumn so i wanted to part dis-assemble the engine both as a learning activity as well as providing spares for my daily runner. Is there any chance that the fuel system could still be pressurised after sitting in a garden for over 2 years? I am fascinated how these engines are put together but dont want to go lumbering in, removing bits willy nilly that could be hazardous in some way.
Thanks for reading and hope all are enjoying this brief Mediterranean-like weather!!

I doubt there is any pressure left in the system after 2 years. Be on the safe side and gently undo one of the joints on the injectors. You will still have diesel in them but doubt there is any pressure there.

Sounds obvious , but make sure you wear some decent gloves when messing about with the diesel bits , it's not too kind on your skin

Probably the most important thing to remember is don’t disconnect the air-conditioning into the environment. As it’s illegal it should be pressured down correctly using the correct equipment
