Default Rare beast

A rare beast indeed - colour 1 of 1 and a Rousch Super charger.

I wonder why that is? it appears somewhat overpriced even when factoring in the rarity of owning a supercharged wheelbarrow...........exhaust pipe handles

I would think the colour puts a lot of people off.
Great for extroverts but for the rest of us...Not so much.
The rest of the spec looks great though.

I think it was up for £18500 originally? It looks like the back boxes are for a tourer model hence why they stick out so far. Those tail pipes really suit the V8 when they're fitted correctly so that they've only got a small lip past the heat shields on the bumper.

The supercharged V8 is probably prices about right for what it is, being a monogram ZT in probably the most flashy monogram colour, with it being supercharged and on relatively low mileage. If someone made a £12k offer and the seller accepted it I think that would probably be a decent price. However if I was in the position to buy it the one thing that would stay on my mind is I'd wish it had a Kenne Bell supercharger rather than a Roush one, 400bhp just sounds better

The seller also has the shotsilk Rover 45 with the ZS kit on it. Has some background story about how it was originally a Rover 45 and was then converted into a ZS 180. It's the only ZS 180 with a automatic gearbox which is a unique point, but doesn't appeal personally as I'd much rather have a manual gearbox in a ZS.

Apparently still registered as a Rover 45 on the log book. Has some story about how it was It was originally built for the wife of one of the MG Rover Director’s which I personally really couldn't give a monkey's about, especially not to warrant the premium on the asking price.

Lovely car, stunning colour and no doubt it's in amazing condition, yeah has a slight rarity being the only automatic 180 ZS and some useless history about it being some director's wife's car. But does it really warrant the £9k price tag? hmmm.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unique-MG...8AAOSwZi5eLDsQ

Also has some dodgy bidding going on. I've seen this car go up for auction on ebay twice and both times bids went up to a stupid price. Yet the car appears up for sale again after. Shill bidding comes to mind.

Here's the last auction that ended at £8k. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/schtop!/m...p2046732.m1684

Put it this way, if you really wanted a shotsilk ZS that badly, you could buy a standard 180 with that kit on it for an average of £1500, buy 2.5 litres of paint from specialist paints for £1300 and have it sprayed for around £3500 for a total cost of £6260. still cheaper than spending £9k on that one and you'd have a freshly painted car.

And that's coming from someone who owns two monograms.

Default Colour

Yes indeed, also saw a monogram colour called Caledonian which looked lovely but don't know if any were actually made in this colour. At least I have the steering wheel off the Dark Fantasy which was in Holland with us.

I love the colour, but I don't know what I would do with a supercharged V8. Not really the sort of car I could use as an everyday car.
