Hi,
I'm afraid you can't. That 'phone' button has never had any purpose. iirc it was included in the unit on first design in case Rover decided to go with a piece of phone kit, but they never did. So the button has no function at all. Have you checked behind the roof console unit for a mic behind that grille? The grille is standard but it doesn't follow that a mic is present. If it is then your car previously had a built in Rover system for a Nokia phone that was available at launch. Again this was not linked to the Symphony apart from the unit was muted when the phone rang. imo best bet is to get an up to date instal with mic and voice through the speakers with a mute facility but that may cost many ££ hth Mike

My car kit is a separate control box that signals to the Symphony when the phone is in use. I can;t recall what the display says, but it's something like "Mute".
My mike is actualy stuck onto the grille as, like Mike says, there's nothing behind it. |
