Default E46 16:9 Head Unit What Will It Do?

I have seen the sticky at the top of the page for the loom, and as this was the biggest thing putting me off attempting a retrofit I thought I might try it. But before I start shelling out the money, I wondered what equipment could be added to the BMW 16:9 screen. Seeing as they can custom make the loom is it possible to add different branded equipment? I would still have the MK4 BMW GPS computer, but things like, instead of a CD changer, perhaps a DVD changer? Different TV tuner e.g. Digital? Or is it coded to specific equipment?

The screen is dumb it can't do much at all
they come in three versions Casette CD or Minidisk
to use the latter two types requires a replacement BM54 Radio

The TV tuner has an AV input and a Reversing camera input both can be used for a DVD player unfortunately the TV tuner only has a Mono sound input if you want surround sound that requires a third party amp and a need to wire it up to share the speakers somehow

A digital TV tuner is available but at a silly price I pod interfaces can be fitted

you can add bluetooth and speech recognition
basically do your homework on any good BMW site e.g
