Battery flat - Closed out from Rover 75T

Hello
I need a desperate help.

The ROVER 75 Tourer of my wife has a totally flat battery after a period of inactivity due to local traffic restriction because of Diesel EURO3.

The car is probably one of latest, it has been manufactured in 2005.

The car is closed, all the doors and windows are closed, the bonnet is closet and I literally don't know how to access to it in order to change the battery.

The key is ok, but the only door that can be open through the key has an electric switch, so It does not work.
My only optionis to break a glass...but this is my very latest solution.

It is possible that there is no way to open at least the bonnet with some mechanical trick ?

If you get under the front, you can access the starter/alternator live lead via the nut where it connects to the starter. Apply a 12 volt live source to the nut and use any suitable earthing point then use your remote.

Thanks Lee, i understand that I can do that but I don't know where the starter/alternator is located and how to access it from under the car...
also I have no mean to jack the car, for this I need to ask a car mechanic to do an assistance out of his garage, don't know how easy it will be in a car parking...

I'm expecting some trick to open mechanically the bonnet, that would be the ideal solution.
I remember days ago I read in this forum that there is a sort of secret method to do that, but only the forum PM knows it and communicate it privately...do you know sommething about ?

Unfortunately the door key it not purely mechanical, and it operates an electrical switch so it is impossible to open the car since the battery I suppose is below the minimum voltage needed to operate any service...

Your going to need a Jack, even doing it the "secret" way you need to Jack up the car. Unless you have an engine undertray the starter connection is easy to spot, centre front of engine around half way up. Your looking for a black rubber cap with a thick red wire protruding either side, pull off the rubber cap to reveal the nut.

If the lock doesn't work with a flat battery then you've got a faulty lock. I had the battery off my typhoon for a few months while doing bits on it, and always used the key in the drivers door. Same as my other cars, if the battery is flat the lock will still work (unless its faulty). But it will only unlock the drivers door and no others, the electrical part is to tell the car the door has been unlocked and then the others unlock. The drivers door part is a purely mechanical unlock.

No need for a jack doing it from under, just bendy wrists
