The members will have those parts bud it's the bracket to prevent the triangle sagging.

Like this when fitted.



And without bracket.

I am sure you are are correct, as they seem to be a common part used on many German cars and sit in a recess in the boot lid.

As far as I can can see, the only difference is that the Rover 75 version had an extra top mounting.
My VW Passat one is ok, but would benefit from one of those fitted to the top.

the wv passat one has the same manufactors part numbers on the plastic bracket and the triangle.the only difference being one has vw stamped on the other rover.

the passat boot liner has a small recess where the top of the triangle slots into at the top.

Hi Wullie,
Did you have to drill holes in the boot for your bracket?
There are two holes (square ) already there, where the OEM clip locates, but they look like they would be lower down.

I didn't drill any holes I made mine up and picked up the OEM holes in the boot.
The one I'll make for you will be the same it'll pick up the OEM holes all you'll need is the square plastic inserts and some screws.
