Crown Alloys
I have been looking for a spare or two but it seems they come in two sizes 6.5j and 6j if you believe the descriptions on e bay.
How can I tell which ones I have?? There must be markings somewhere on the wheels but I cant see them. Anybody any idea where they would be on the wheel please ?? |

The MGR 'Approved Accessories' brochure lists them as 6.5J. The only designs that are 6J are the 'Y Spoke' and the 'Broad Spoke'. Any markings are likely to be on the reverse side of one of the spokes. That's where the ID marks on Serpents are anyway.

I'm pretty certain the Crown alloys are all 6.5J. The tyre sizes may differ though, either 205/65 R15 or 195/65 R15 were fitted depending on the model.

Am I the only one who hates Crown alloys? I have a set on mine at the moment, and they are the worst to clean. It's on top of my my to change list after we get back from holiday and funds can be spent!

I totally agree. Not that nice looking, too small and not easy to clean. I want to change mine mine too. I was tempted by the serpents on ebay but the buy it now was up and down like a yoyo and I did not fancy picking them up from Leeds. And no center caps which are also extortionatly priced. I have seen a few nice sets of 17 inch subaru alloys in graphite which will look nice and are same fitment so will keep looking at ebay till I find a set at right price. |

Surely Can't be worse than the Forked Alloys to clean?
They seem to hold all the Brake dust in the "Fork" |

Oh they're a pain John really are! The outer holes have reasonably hard angles so it's a pain getting right into the corners, so always seem to be left with black bits when using a bucket and sponge! May be easier with some Wonder Wheels etc and a jet wash, but I'm usually too tight to pay to use the jet wash when a bucket and sponge does the same job but better!
Oh and how mad am I? Had a nice set of 5 spokes that would have fitted too, sold them on ebay for £41 |

These are the wheels everyone should have.nice looking 18 inchers and easy to clean, (just ask the small girl who does them for me once a week)..the guy who did my mot loved them...and the car..said he would have one just the same if he could afford it..bless him!
