For how long does it continue to run? And is the car petrol or diesel? Is it worse (or only) when aircon is on?

Mine's a diesel, and the fan will run on when aircon has been on, as part of the cooling down process.

If a petrol car, it is more likely to continue to run in its engine cooling mode, again as part of the cooling down process, and for a little longer than if it's just for aircon, I would have thought. But either way, a little more info might help someone give a more helpful answer.

Failing that, have you tried ebay for a new wife?
