Do a Google search Bob, may well be somewhere local that can convert VHS to DVD. I don't know exactly where you are but I did an "experimental" search for Devon (and Cornwall) and it came back with several places.

I'd be very reticent to chuck any of the photos Bob, its not something I could bring myself to do.

Cool

The wedding video has been converted over to DVD by Reebs. It was done sometime ago, and I have not only just remembered but I have now found the DVD.
So tonight’s TV is all sorted.

The huge collection of photo’s will be catalogued over the next year. Then I’ll contact various museums and pass on the photo’s.

My 1800 slides have already been copied onto disc, which was a good thing. Seeing as the slides were later destroyed in a fire, whilst in storage.

But many thanks to all the advice. It is really appreciated.

Twice today I’ve quoted your advice Andy In my experience digital photos don’t get viewed just stored. Actually holding a photo in your hand and remembering the event or reason behind it as a snapshot in time is such an emotive moment......

Once you've converted them all to digital versions, back them up in cloud storage. That way, if your hard copies are lost, and the digital ones are corrupted, you'll still have the backed up copies in the cloud.
