Nearly didn't bother to watch this. Glad I didn't skip it. Absolutely priceless. Grinning from ear to ear as I type this.

Great, especially with the out-takes included.---

Hi, as a keen long-standing cyclist who has cycled in many countries, I welcome the new Highway Code protection of cyclists. The 1.5m distance, an overtaking car has to maintain is a minimum, Australia has had that requirement for years. My wife was hit buy a car about 20 years ago and suffered horrendous bruises and a broken collar bone.

The worst country I have cycled in is north island NZ, some of those drives really want to put you in hospital as they don’t believe you should be on the road. In fact some drivers have deliberately hit cyclists, with fatal consequences. South Island NZ isn’t as bad. Australia wasn’t too bad, where possible the drivers give you as much room as they can. There the problem is running over a snake crossing the road.

For those of you who don’t cycle, please imagine yourself as the cyclist, we are so vulnerable.

I'd rather they kept off the footpaths. The road is where they belong.

In many countries cycling on the footpaths is legal and signed as dual usage. I do agree cyclist have to be responsible in the way the conduct themselves. We all have responsibilities whether walkers, cyclists, vehicle drivers.
