Default EBay can I accept bid before end of auction?

Sorry can't find answer on eBay Help but am sure someone here knows the answer. Am trying to sell my Stag and there are still 8 days left to run. Can I accept a satisfactory bid - there's a reserve on it of course - and cancel the auction before it runs out? (Yes I want the readies in my hand).

(Ye Gods I am an optimist).

You can stop an auction, but I don't think you can just accept a current bid. You'd need to agree something with the bidder first, or I think you can add a buy it now price for them simply to click on?

In the past I have done that when people ask if I have a selling price. I have told them what I want, if they accept I put the buy it now on an they simply click it.

You can end the auction and deal with the seller off site, beware though, if it goes wrong theres no comeback for either party.

In motors you can end early to sell to the highest bidder.

It's pretty easy

Select sell to current high bidder.

If they havent bid, change the reserve to the agreed price, tell them to bid, then end it

Why did you not list as a classified ad .The whole idea of listing on an auction is that it goes to the highest bidder at the end of the listing timescale .There are, normally bidders waiting until the auction end to place their bids .If you have already reached an acceptable amount to you then you are on a winner .You will benefit more by allowing the auction to run .Be wary of ending auction early .As Andy said You have no protection.

There's no protection for car sales anyway, it's an ineligible category, as I found out the hard, expensive way

People should sell cars free on gumtree

Many thanks for your comment. I've met the highest bidder who gave me what I wanted - no point in being greedy - both parties are happy.
