Default A cheap tourer on EBay in Byfleet in Surrey.

Anyone know this car?
Item number 132846820834.
Registration number RF53MXJ.
It has 132,000 miles, Tourer 2.0CDti Connoisseur.

It's a tad far from me but it might just be what I am looking for. Not a lot of money if I was closer but a flight and then drive to the ferry and ferry ticket make it a bit of a risk.

I looked at the advert for this on on Gumtree. (I don't actually want a diesel).

It's been taken in part/exchange but in the pictures looks good. The serpent wheels look as they have had a good scraping. The steering wheel has suffered and will need replacing.

The MOT only needed some small jobs to be achieved. the TAX ran out at the end of October.

It looks ok in the pictures, though pictures can give a false impression.
I think I will ring tomorrow to find out what if any service history is with it.
I don't really want to be replacing a clutch.

Thank you planenut.

It would appear to need a new grill as some of the bars are missing for some reason.

Why not ask if someone can look at it for you, if you are that interested?

I have looked at the list of members that have volunteered to help out like this but none seem close. I have sent a pm to one asking if he close to it.

However if any one is from the Byfleet in Surrey area that could have a look at it I would be most grateful.

Sorry to say that I will not be available to check this one out until after the weekend, so I'll watch this thread.

Here's the Gumtree ad for it......

Rang about this just now. The sales man doesn't have much information on the service history so can't tell me if it's had a clutch or not. Apparently the near side of the car is in good nick, it's just the way they take the photographs.
He has a few people interested in it, if I pay for it or leave a deposit then he will hold it for me for collection.
I know it's a cheap car and if it was here I would be all over it like a rash, but by the time I factor in a flight, ferry, fuel etc it's not so cheap anymore.

If I find someone to drive it and pronounce it sound but scruffy then I would take a punt on it.

Well I had a long think about it and then some more.

So, I have bought a 75 saloon diesel from a private sale here in Northern Ireland. It has high mileage but has been very well maintained and drives very nicely indeed.

I guess my dogs will get used to being in the closed boot rather than the open boot of an estate or hatchback. If I put down the middle arm rest and open the hatch they will be ok I'm sure.

So life could be a bit of a drag for your dogs in the future, that's if you don't put them in the car.

Good luck and enjoy the car.
