Default Bonnet stuck shut

Can one of the mods PM me with instructions for opening the bonnet when the catch just flaps about

Sometimes the problem is the lil springs on the bonnet top spears They can jam up and you need someone to lift the bonnet as you pull the release lever inside the car.

My car was like that when I bought it. I scraped loads of rust off, then oiled everything up, so the springs could move freely and it was fine..

It has beaten me tonight, can a mod send me some instructions or anyone who has done it give me tips as I've just spent the best part of the evening trying to get it open. Doesn't help when I cant start the car to turn the wheels for more access.

Just eat your Weetabix Stu, it is possible to turn the wheel to left lock with no power assistance, easier if you jack one of the front wheels up first though

And I found it much easier after removal of the screenwash filler neck, to do the dirty deed
