Default Impending Autobox Epic Failure?

Hello chaps,

Quick questions, only noticed this yesterday with my CDT auto. A couple of times when coasting (in D, but revs at idle) to a roundabout, then putting my foot back on the accelerator to enter the roundabout at anything above 10mph (so 2nd gear) I have noticed a momentary lack of drive and then it picks up the drive a little harshly. I don't know whether this is down to it (probably) needing a fluid change and cold weather or some impending borkage of doom?

Only noticed it last night and tonight on the way home from work. It's not normal torque converter slip, stick the foot on the accelerator and no drive for about 1 second then it picks up a little harshly.

Any ideas? No noises or errors on dash!

Cheers.

First thing to do is a gearbox oil change, hopefully that will solve the problem.

If that doesn't solve anything, please refer back to us.

If there's any play in the lower mount, it'll show up on engaging of drive.
Check your lower mount, and if faulty we have them here:
75/ZT CDTi Lower Engine Mount

I'd also consider a gearbox oil change as mentioned above - it transformed my automatic (I didn't realise how sluggish kickdown was before!)

If it's any consolation, this month my ZT-T decided to break it's 6 months of being un-broken, with a hefty list of jobs that I now need to do...

I'm going to be different and suggest airflow meter, try disconnecting and seeing what it's like

Doesn't sound like the lower mount to me.
If that 1 second is correct, surely that's way too long to take up any slack?

Do the revs rise in this 1 second gap?
If so, it could be low oil and it's taking that long to get sufficient pressure up.
If not, as Sworks suggests, it could be an engine problem.
