1.8t ECU, BCU and EWS swap question.
I have a complete set including two remotes from a 1.8t ZT.
ECU, BCU and EWS with both operating remote PCBs and matching transponders.. If I remove those same components from another 1.8t ZT and fit the other set, will that be all that's needed to run the car? Does the IPK have to go with them too etc etc ? Any pointers here would be appreciated. |

Without using some T4 dodges, I believe the IPK and LSM are also required to match everything up.

As a bare minimum to start the car, an ECM, EWS and a key transponder are required.
However the BCU is what controls the remote central locking and this can cause issues with ZCS coding conflict, ie you can't fit a saloon BCU to a Tourer and vice versa, otherwise you hit problems with tailgate operation etc. Other pitfalls can take form such as EWS from an automatic fitted to a manual, SRS coding mismatches the list goes on, it's not an ideal. As a temporary keep you running, an EWS, mems3 transponder and BCU from one of your SORN cars, and post me a couple of remotes, the BCU and EWS and I'll sort out the rest for you Brian |
