Default ZT Fuel Gauge never shows full query.

I've brim filled my MG ZT-T 1.8t several times since getting it back in the summer. Annoyingly, it NEVER shows full, the needle position being around four minutes past six when I brim fill the Fuel tank.

Would it be an in-tank fault or simple repositioning of the needle on its shaft in the fuel gauge next time I brim fill?

Neither of mine ever should quite full on the fuel gauge. Perhaps something common to many ZTs.

Try running the IPK self-test (sorry, can't remember the number) before you reposition the needle.

That will tell you if the needle is in the correct part of its travel - and if it is, the fault lies elsewhere.

When the tank's completely full, you might check the rheostat resistance figures for each level float. They should be about the same as shown below.

If one is quite different or neither is near the 'full' value, you know the float arms or rheostats are suspect.
