I have a 2.0cdt with 160 re map and auto box, lovely to drive but I have to say, I have a 1.8T Auto as well and that is sheer delight and runs circles around the CDT for road handling and noise levels, the petrol is a much smoother drive
Recently bought a 2.5 V6 and wow the sounds is great, it is also an Automatic and is so smooth on gear change, however a little more thirsty on the fuel side

I run a 160 CDT Auto as my daily / commuting car & have a V6 as my 'High days and dry Days' car.
Reliablilty aside (which has been excellent on all the 75's I've owned, and bills usually come from the suspension side of things!), they are very different cars. In would go as far as saying they feel like two different generations of car to be honest. Without a doubt the diesel feels like the newer vehicle (despite it being older than my V6!), which I have put down mostly to the accelerator pedal - as daft as it sounds - and the power delivery. The Diesel is fly-by-wire so the accelerator pedal feels like a 'modern', and you can get a seamless switch on and off of the cruise control. The V6 still has an accelerator cable, and you can feel that it does especially when using the cruise control - it's much more difficult to get a seamless switch. The power delivery is very much like a modern - especially with the 160 remap. There's always enough power wherever you need it. This is similar to all modern diesels that I've driven, but also most modern petrols - they seem to be geared / set up to allow instant bursts of power. The V6 is a lazy old beast and, especially with the auto box, needs to be given a fair old bootfull to get the same sort of performance that you get around 2000rpm with the diesel. Out of the two I love driving the V6 - it's a beautiful car and a lovely power train. However for commuting work the diesel 'just works'. |

i currently run a 2.0ltr diesel and also have a 190 the diesel is going not a patch on the v6 i just love everything about a petrol engine this is the last diesel i will ever own.
