Delighted with ZT-T 1.8T MPG Check.
The low fuel warning light has been illuminated for about 30 Miles earlier today so decided to fill up to the Brim as I usually do. That way is a good way to keep an eye on fuel consumption rather than relying on the OBC.
So, it took exactly 60.00 litres to again fill to the brim. Filled beyond first blow back cut off to ensure good fill and with minimal blow back spillage. Trip was showing 410.4 before I Zero-ed it. Yes, that equates to 31.09 Miles Per Gallon. The best obtained on any 1.8T MG ZTs. Yes both pleasing and delighted as I rarely drive for economy but most of those 410 miles were free flowing A Roads and Motorways. Lots of Stop-start stuff too in both South and North London and today in Bristol when I picked up Five Gridspoke alloys. Took this image before filling up at Sainsbury's three miles from my home @ £1.09 pence per litre. :~ |

Is that all? In no way am I criticising your driving, car etc but I would have expected more than that out of the turbo. 30 mpg is quite attainable with the v6 on a reasonable run.

I've had similar figures on a run on both my V6s, 30-32 mpg is quite achievable. I've not had the computer read out before so both were worked out brim to brim.

Hi.
On my 1.8 (COA) on a fill to fill I managed 44.8mpg in 2014 from Kilmarnock to Newcastle, didn't exceed 70mph. Did the same run Sunday and returned Monday in the Panda and did 58.4 mpg! Again roughly the same speed but a little bit of fun on the A71 See here http://golbornevintageradio.co.uk/fo...d.php?tid=6416

Over a 1200 mile trip, Norfolk to Scottish Borders and return recently, brim to brim fill ups gave me 42 mpg. Mainly A47, A17, A1, A19 and daily "trips out". Very satisfied with that as it was one of the most comfortable trips I have ever done in 40+ years of driving.

I remember when I was a wee lad in my dad's Ford V8 Pilot, him driving on many occasions with the needle off the scale. Even did it many times when I was younger.
These days with overhead cameras and other drivers that have no observation skills and a disregard for other road users I stick to the law. Occasionally though I'll use the road to its full, potential if it's quiet, I will stick to the law though. Why you may ask.... ROSPA trained.
