Cool Wheeler dealers STATESIDE. RS Cosworth Escort

This has Mike B and his new spannerman Ant sorting a LHD Escort Cosworth in California.

I enjoyed the engine removal and oil leak issue details and particularly the Turbocharger rebuild.

Here's the link :~

Ant is an ex copper who lives just up the road from me. He used to do a series which specialised in restoring cars where there weren't many left

An informative show, but USD5,000 for the cost of the rear wing, really?

Wouldn't surprise me, cossies are silly money and always have been. Real cult cars, and especially rare out in the US.

It's a Ford Escort enough said...the only thing in it's favour the engine gearbox and drive are in line..

Strange thing is Ant's hands look exceptionally clean for a mechanic, maybe he is putting them in his Mothers dishwasher .

Bet Ed is in the background doing the grunt work lol..

Thanks for the insight MG John..

I enjoyed it too, except it seemed to end a little abruptly. Maybe too much time spent on the wing. 5k for that wing though, I can see why. A wind tunnel is not cheap to hire, especially a full sized one.

I thought the wing was ugly personally, and expected it to be finished better. There was no finisher on the front facing upright, which would cause issues if it saw its intended use. I would have been interested in how it was attached but they passed over that part sadly.

But on the whole, it was better than I had been expecting. Thanks for posting John.

Part 2 is an 82 Celica Supra, though not as good as part 1, still watchable.
Part 3 is a Mustang, will watch it tomorrow
