Default Sunroof - Anti Trap Problem

My sunroof has started playing up. Using the one touch to close, if it gets to about 3/4 closed it opens itself. If I hold the switch it will fully close.

The blind works perfectly as do all other functions

Any thoughts ?

Default Sunroof

I've got the same problem - only started recently. Mine only gets to about a quarter closed before re-opening. Holding the switch makes it close fully. I've also had the blind overhauled and the sliders replaced and roof worked fine for several months afterwards. I'm wondering if the switch may be the problem?

Mine's doing the same thing! According to RAVE, if it was the anti-trap function operating the panel should stop moving, not re-open.

I doubt that it's the switch Tracker since it only sends a single command to the ECU which then takes over.

I'm sure you've already tried a reset? (worth asking just in case).

How about a battery reset?

Well I thought I'd give the sunroof reset a go......

From RAVE

"Initialisation is performed by holding the switch in the slide closed or tilt open position for a minimum of 15 seconds.

This forces the operating mechanism against fixed stops to provide the ECU with a position datum.
Successful initialisation is indicated by:

The glass panel moving to the tilt open position, if initialised by holding the switch in the slide closed position.

Slight movement of the glass panel, if initialised by holding the switch in the tilt open position.

..............................and it seems to have done the trick

I tried the factory reset as kindly published above but problem remains; it closes 3/4 then retreats back as if it has met an obstruction.

Closes fine if you hold the button.

Any more ideas on what to look for?

Same with mine, re set works once then reverts to the 3/4 trick

Mine has been doing the same thing for a few years now, very annoying! Seem to remember getting the (ex) dealer to look at it, I think the response was “wiring”. I’ll reset mine tomorrow and see if that helps, doubt it though!
