500 Rover 75's
Took my son to his friends birthday party, then got talking to another parent and we got round to discussing cars and I mentioned my R75.
He used to work at Leyland Trucks in Leyland (just a mile up the road from me) and he remembers he and his workmates were offered a Rover 75 when they were first launched,at factory discount price... didn't tell me how much though. He remembers majority of his work mates took up the offer, and he said he used to look out into the car park and there was about 500 brand new Rover 75's and that the remote key fob would always set off more than one car........Then he told me it was Rovers way of boosting sale figures by offering discount cars to the workforce.....told to him by a manager friend...

Leyland trucks was the subject of a management buyout in 1993... Certainly nothing to do with Rover Group under BMW.
I really doubt BMW electrics would be rubbish enough for keys to open more than one car. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

Ford employees and Ford pensioners still get large discounts. My mother’s neighbour has just taken delivery of his 34th new Ford.

Still can. Theres even random discounts on Fiats/Abarths and the like. Although these discounts are usually less than whatever offers are on them at anytime.
