If you and your partner are named drivers on one policy, the second named driver may be able to insure in their own name, and retain the NCB for the period they have been named on their partners policy.
You might well have to deal direct, because brokers won't offer this.

Hi,

I phoned PB as my (Saga based) Car Insurance is due for renewal next month. I always phone around every year but had not tried PB before.... thought it worth a try!

I spoke to Francesca at PB (hope no problem in mentioning name?) who could not have been more interested or helpful.

Provided an excellent Classic Car based quote offering Agreed Value ... requires current printed photos.... Limited Mileage with Breakdown on my 2002 Rover 75 1.8 Classic SE.

Talking to Saga they agreed to match the PB quoted price (I've been with SAGA a while, have other policies and clean licence) so I decided to stay with them, but would certainly have gone with PB this year otherwise.

No connections with PB but would recommend to try them based on this experience. Oh, and the quote..... £134....

Happy Roving, all

John

Default Car Insurance

Just made enquirers for insurance quotes Peter James, they say classic car insurance is ONLY NOW up to 2000 after that it's normal car insurance, this is for new policies. Therefore you cannot get agreed valued on most Rover MG ZT's with them. Adrian Flux gave a better quote with agreed value and no claims bonus accrued to policy.

Hmm...

I have a 2001 75 insured as a classic with them & with agreed value (as I've spent about £6k getting it up to as-new condition). I do hope they'll renew next year.

Just tried Peter Best, won't insure my 2002 MG ZT under classic insurance, no explanations forthcoming. We've 3 other insured cars, NCB going back 25 yrs, crazy and annoying, wanted £500 plus on a new policy for 2k miles.

Peter Best seem to be varied to say the least! I have to say I’ve always struggled with them and to be honest I now tend to find Adrian Flux are more helpful as well as being much cheaper!
