Busy week this for me who normally just washes and polishes the cars.....

Bio broke down on Wed and had to be recovered home. It was the UBP which has now been replaced and it's running fine once again. Whilst doing this I found a fuel pipe under the pump had been rubbing and was almost into a hole - could see the webbing material in it's construction, so replaced it as well. Dropped it off at Tom Hobbs on Saturday for the offside sill and jacking point which needs attention. Needs an MOT next week on it's return, should go straight through.

I put 2 threads up this week about my daily - abs kicking in and the problem changing front discs. Both now resolved with another members help. Dave Lincs did the discs for me and told me what the problem with the abs was One 3 hour wheel bearing swap later this evening and the issue was fixed

Fleet update! All had a wash and got them lined up for a photo!

The CDT (GFJ) is currently on loan to my housemate as his Astra’s engine has died and he urgently needed something to get to work in.

The Limo (WRK) is booked in with my friendly MGR mechanic for some bodywork, a good service and some suspension work.

The V6 (BPD) is in fine fettle having spent the last year being lightly restored. It’s had:
  • Brakes all round
  • Full exhaust including cat
  • Top mounts
  • Drop links
  • Suspension arms
  • VIS motors
  • Cambelts replaced
  • Waterpump
  • Thermostat
  • New ECU (Many thanks to PhilT4)

It is now the best driving 75 that I’ve ever owned, and being a Connoisseur SE it is really nicely specced.

Had the car MOT'd and per usual it failed on the list below

1,Both rear shocks leaking ( they have lasted the last eight years of my ownership,
even the first time I took the car to my mechanic they were weeping).
2, Rear wheel bearing
3, Parking brake efficiency (replace the hand break shoes).
4, Co2 levels to high (my mechanic blaming the after market rear cat and the piper cams that I have fitted) Had to use 2 bottles of cat clean.
Now my wallet is lighter by £851.04 and the wife would not talk to me for a day. I must really love my car lol.

Decided to check underneath the green one & glad I did O/Side rear wheel off, wire brush, clean & inspect rear arm, not too bad Aquasteel brushed on, left to dry, followed by a slathering of Dinitrol & Dynax in the cavities. Luvverly
Now the n/side quite a bit of the plastic coating had lifted on the lower arm, so using a screwdriver & wire brush, removed all the loose stuff & repeated as above. The brake lines had an advisory last year, but these had been cleaned & covered, so all's well. All in all, for a 17 year old with minimal mileage, not too shabby Stiff as a stiff thing now so having a few stiff ones

Gave the Odessey a good run after getting Turbo refurbished, no smoke and running sweet .
Started the torch and USB install, just waiting for the socket plug for torch so I can wire to fuse box.
Gave it a good clean now the maintenance is all done.
Fitted 1.8T , Club badge and new flag badges.
Loving this Odessey.

Default MOT success

Not today, but over the last couple of weeks.
I have replaced the offside rear backplate, rear discs, pads & shoes (thanks Marinabrian for the link to well priced items), front pads and also renewed the oil, air filter, oil filter and crankcase breather.

I was somewhat worried about the emissions for the MOT as I have always struggled to get a pass, but then had the brainwave of plugging the out of spec MAF back in.
I am very pleased to report an opacity value of 0.48. The car was sluggish as anything, so it was unplugged again straight after the test!

Had a pass first time with only an advisory for rear drop link play.

Not bad for 14 years and 140,000 miles.

Wired up the torch and USB from fusebox to centre cubby (used the spare accessories fuse) so just need the plug to connect to torch charger and it will be all done.
Also noticed the rear door on drivers side was not closing flush, adjusted that so now a nice fit .
