Agree that the radio and steering wheel cover do let the side down a tad. Obviously the mayor in question was sponsored by Halfords

He was probably the mayor of Jaywick.

I'd agree it's not a £5k car but is in fair condition and an interesting buy.

Jaywick is apparently now having money spent on it to improve the 'desirable' areas. I reckon about £1.20 might make a difference.

this one sold on the bay a few years ago at a lot less I believe - got the details somewhere, will take a look...I do have a weakness for the LWB's mind, call me long-legged...

A proper good valet would make a difference, as you say that radio is awful!

And a nice set of Meteors or Serpents would lift the car.

oddly for a limo its quite basic! I thought they were all connoisseur SE's with loads of extras,

Me too! Been after one for years & finally got my hands on the one Rev Jules owned. Just had a full inspection and fettling by my local MGR engineer & all set for the coming year.
