Certainly is Russ, any season of the year. The sitting man statue is worth a visit too.

It's only 1 mile long, but it's Britains twistiest road. Loads of people have come a real cropper trying to take it on. Make sure you go up and down it a few times before you decide to give it some beans.

There are loads of vids on you tube of people going up and down it.

Did it on an RD350 F2 and again years later on a GSXR1000 thoroughly recommend it for biking, as for a car ... just ended up stirring the gearbox all day! great if you're in a Caterham or something sporty ... not so much for anything else imo, plus ... far too many of the 'boys in blue' lurking around every corner (not that you'll be speeding or course!) so might not matter.
Horses for courses though.

There's a canny watering hole with superb grub on that road too - the Lion Inn at Blakey

Living in Sheffield I have been over the Snake a few times. All I'll say is don't think that just because it says 50 limit, that you can do that the full length. There are a couple of hairpin bends that are better at 40 or less.
Oh, and because cars now have super bright blinding headlights, I would advise a daylight run

Pet hate of mine, full beam in your face. Some people just don't care, even when you flash them. I often wish I had a super bright light to retaliate...they are probably the same drivers who hog the middle lane and park on double yellows...

There's a couple of roads in the Lake District which are well worth a visit, as they offer THREE things -
  • Incredible scenery
  • A clutch test (on the way up)
  • A brake test (on the way down the other side)

....... Hardknott Pass & Wrynose Pass
