Default What emergency tools should I carry?

Next month we're off to SNP land so am wondering what other members carry in the way of small tools to keep them mobile. I am thinking of:

Telescopic wheel brace
Tyre pressure gauge
Phillips and flat screwdrivers
Pliers
Duct tape
Socket set
Cable ties
Head Torch
Nitrile gloves
Small jar Swarfega
Adjustable spanner

Anything else? (But not a pr of drop links).

I've just driven to Tory land and back and only took a breaker bar with a 17mm socket Cable ties and chocks were already in the boot.

I carry jump leads in the car too just in case. I'd rather have to look for someone willing to help me than look for someone who's willing to help me and has a pair of jump leads. Then again maybe you know your battery is fine

I have seen what CB750chris has in the back of his car, omg its a lot.
Apart from jump leads, spare bulbs torch and some gloves I think I only have what is needed to change a wheel

I carry loads, in the hope that according to a particular "law", I won"t ever need them. It is handy to have the jump leads and breaker bar to help others out.

But, if you are heading to that particular Country, take your passport just in case there is another demand...........oh, and consider carrying your vaccination certificate.

These days I also carry my RAC card, plus jump leads.

However, back in the day (Midget / Sprites, Mk 1 Zephyr, Rapier, 5 or 6 Minor 1000's) it was a 5 tray cantilever tool box, which even then I thought was heavy.

Holidays meant adding in just about every spare I had at the time.

Regards

Mike

RAC membership card and my wallet. Honestly, if you break down I feel it's unlikely to be anything you can repair yourself. I'm thinking clutch, crankshaft pully, radiator, belts, brake pipes. I aint paying 7 quid a month to fix it myself.

I did look out the window when I read the post and wondered "am I in the Sahara desert or something?"

I assume Scotland was just referenced to point out it was a longer journey though

I used to carry everything I might need for any repair in the boot.
I can remember having a breakdown on a club run in my 1955 ZA Magnette when I had a frost plug blow out of the engine block. I actually had one in the boot. Another time I rear ended a truck on my way home on Christmas eve wrecking the radiator. The truck driver laughed when I said I could fix it but believe it or not I had a spare radiator and coolant in the boot. I don't recall why (probably keeping an eye on a leak) but the trucker was amazed when I had the car running again in half an hour.
Now that I am older and wiser and driving better cars I just carry my auto club card and a small box with some lockwire, wire ties, electrical tape, fuses and duct tape.
