My 75 arrived this morning - it's the first one I've driven, I find it so, so smooth and incredibly quiet for a car approaching 20 years old. First jobs were to replace the key cases - new ones kindly supplied by the seller and to give it a clean up, as he'd driven it just under 200 miles to me (and had the... delight of driving my 1.0 Yaris all the way back!).

Quick question for those with more experience of these - I've noticed a little water in the boot, anywhere in particular that these are known to let in?

Rear light seals, boot seal, chrome strips on the side of the car, rear boot vents (one either side behind carpet and/or bumper), rear screen trim...some welds around the boot too I believe.

I'm probably forgetting some!

A slight upgrade in comfort from the Yaris im sure, hope you keep enjoying the 75!
There a few locations that can leak into the boot area and i believe someone has created a how to guide to stop the common leak points there but in the main they are:
Rear lights - replace seals
Chrome side strips - seal where their clips come through inside boot
Rear windscreen - Clips again
Rear vents situated behind bumper - remove and reseal
Rubber grommit - Where reverse sensor wiring comes into boot, reseal

A lot of users recommend Captain Tolleys creeping crack leak cure?!?!, or a similar name. Other than that a decent auto sealant for the bigger gaps, not household stuff

Thank you both for the tips, there! Duly noted and will try to trace it when (if) the weather improves...

I'm also thinking of replacing the gearknob as the plastic insert has lifted and is moving with each gearchange - I'm thinking of a wooden one to match the "wooden" dash.

My son took the ZT (and myself) on little trip to the south east today for a little upgrade...

Cool

We had a very spirited drive in the V8, and we still have fuel left.

As my tourer is due her MOT in August and I'm due to have the rear arms replaced , I thought I'd have a look underneath the rear of the car. I got a bit of a shock at the surface rust both around the subframe and inside the wheel arches. I'm probably rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic but I have removed the rear arch liners and using a wire brush in a drill cleaned up the arches and subframe as best as I can and coated every where in Kurust and then painted the heavily pitted arches in dark green Hammerite and the subframe and lower arms in black Smoothrite.

She's looking much better but it was surprising how much corrosion has appeared as the car has hardly been used over the last year and has been just sat on the drive whilst we have just used the Connie. I'm just thankful there were no holes found.

Now the rear silencer strap has broken on the Connie as I took the wife to get her hair done ! So I'm heading back to the drive to make something as these can't be bought separately !
